Getting Started
Accessing Manage Labels
- Navigate to Campaigns section
- Go to Manage Labels or visit /campaigns/labels
- Main interface shows all existing labels
- Empty state appears if no labels exist
Understanding the Interface
- Title: "Manage Campaign Labels"
- Create New Label Button: Add a new label
- Label Name Column: Name of the label
- # Campaigns Column: Number of campaigns using the label
- Actions Column: Edit and delete buttons
- Expandable Rows: Click to see campaigns with each label
Creating a New Label
Step 1: Open Create Dialog
- Click "Create New Label" button (top-right)
- Create dialog opens
- Enter label name
Step 2: Enter Label Name
- Required: Cannot be empty
- Length: Maximum 50 characters
- Format: Any text (letters, numbers, spaces, special characters)
- Uniqueness: Can have same name as existing labels (labels are case-sensitive)
- "Q4 2024"
- "Customer Satisfaction"
- "Employee Engagement"
- "Sales Team"
- "High Priority"
- Use descriptive names
- Keep names concise
- Use consistent naming conventions
- Consider using prefixes (e.g., "Region: North", "Type: Survey")
Step 3: Save Label
- Enter label name
- Click "Create" button
- Label is created immediately
- Dialog closes
- Label appears in table (may show 0 campaigns)
- Label appears in the table
- Campaign count shows 0 (unassigned)
- Can be assigned to campaigns immediately
- Can be edited or deleted
Viewing Label Details
Expanding Label Rows
- Find the label in the table
- Click anywhere on the row (or expand icon if available)
- Row expands to show details
- Shows all campaigns with that label
- Campaigns Table: List of all campaigns using the label
- Campaign Name: Clickable link to edit campaign
- Created Date: When campaign was created
- Responses: Number of responses received
- Remove Button: Remove label from individual campaigns
- Add Campaigns Button: Bulk assign label to multiple campaigns
Campaigns Table Columns
- Clickable link
- Opens campaign editor
- Shows full campaign name
- Date campaign was created
- Formatted as locale date
- Helps identify campaign age
- Number of responses received
- Shows 0 if no responses
- Helps identify active campaigns
- Remove Icon: Remove label from this campaign
- Red X icon for removal
Assigning Labels to Campaigns
Method 1: Bulk Assignment (Recommended)
- Expand the label row
- Click "Add Campaigns" button
- Bulk assignment dialog opens
- Select campaigns from dropdown
- Label is pre-selected
- Click "Apply Labels" to save
- Select Campaigns: Multi-select dropdown
- Select Labels: Combobox (label pre-filled)
- Preview: Shows how many labels will be applied
- Apply Labels: Save changes
- Select Campaigns:
- Type to search campaigns
- Select multiple campaigns
- Shows selected count
- Select Labels:
- Label is pre-filled if opened from label detail
- Can add multiple labels
- Can create new labels by typing
- Review Preview:
- Shows number of campaigns
- Shows number of labels
- Confirms action
- Apply Labels:
- Click "Apply Labels" button
- Labels assigned to all selected campaigns
- Success notification appears
- Assign to multiple campaigns at once
- Efficient for large batches
- Can assign multiple labels simultaneously
Method 2: Individual Assignment
- Open bulk assignment dialog
- Select single campaign
- Select label(s)
- Apply labels
Removing Labels from Campaigns
Remove from Single Campaign
- Expand the label row
- Find the campaign in the table
- Click the Remove Icon (red X)
- Label is removed immediately
- Campaign disappears from list if it was the only label
- Label removed from campaign
- Campaign removed from label's list
- Campaign count decreases
- Success notification appears
- Label shows 0 campaigns
- Label remains in list (unassigned)
- Can be assigned to new campaigns later
Editing Labels
Rename a Label
- Find the label in the table
- Click the Edit Icon (pencil)
- Edit dialog opens with current name
- Modify the label name
- Click "Save" to update
- Label name updated across all campaigns
- All campaigns using the label get the new name
- Label count remains the same
- Success notification appears
- Same validation as creating (required, max 50 characters)
- Updates all campaigns simultaneously
- Cannot be undone easily
- Fix typos in label names
- Standardize naming conventions
- Update label names for clarity
Deleting Labels
Step 1: Confirm Deletion
- Find the label in the table
- Click the Delete Icon (trash)
- Confirmation dialog appears
- Shows label name and campaign count
Step 2: Review Impact
- Label name being deleted
- Number of campaigns using the label
- Warning about removal from all campaigns
- "Are you sure you want to delete the label 'Q4 2024'?"
- "This will remove the label from all 15 campaign(s) that use it."
Step 3: Confirm or Cancel
- Review the impact
- Click "Delete" button
- Label removed from all campaigns
- Label removed from list
- Success notification appears
- Click "Cancel" button
- Dialog closes
- No changes made
- Label removed from all campaigns using it
- Label removed from label list
- Campaigns remain (only label is removed)
- Cannot be undone
- ⚠️ Permanent action - cannot be undone
- Removes label from all campaigns
- Campaigns are not deleted, only the label is removed
Understanding Label Statistics
Campaign Count
- Number of campaigns using the label
- Updates automatically
- Shows 0 for unassigned labels
- Increases when label assigned to campaigns
- Decreases when label removed from campaigns
- Resets to 0 when all campaigns removed
Unassigned Labels
- Labels with 0 campaigns
- Created but not yet assigned
- Still visible in the list
- Created for future use
- All campaigns removed from label
- Prepared in advance
- Can be assigned to campaigns anytime
- Can be edited or deleted
- Useful for planning organization
Best Practices
Label Naming Conventions
- By Time: "Q1 2024", "Q2 2024", "2024 Annual"
- By Department: "Sales", "Marketing", "HR"
- By Type: "Survey", "Feedback", "Assessment"
- By Priority: "High Priority", "Standard", "Low Priority"
- By Status: "Active", "Archived", "Draft"
- Keep names short but descriptive
- Use consistent format across similar labels
